Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Program

MALS allows you to combine courses in different disciplines from across the university to create a specialized concentration, so your bachelor’s degree can be in any major!  We set guidelines, but you get to build your concentration based on your academic interests and professional aspirations.  Under the ABM program, 12 graduate credit hours may be double-counted for both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees; 18 graduate credit hours must be earned for the master’s degree only.

The MALS program requirements consist of three parts:

Interdisciplinary Methods (9 hours)

Concentration (18 hours)

Final Project (3 hours)

What are the Criteria?

If you have:

  • Completed at least 75 credit hours in your undergraduate program
  • A GPA of at least 3.5

You might qualify! Contact the MALS Director, Dr. Michael Garval atgarval@ncsu.edu, for more information.

How do I apply for the MALS ABM Program?

  • Meet with the MALS Director during your junior year (or after 75 completed credit hours).
  • Meet with your undergraduate program director and MALS director to plan your ABM track.
  • Apply to MALS through the online graduate application at ncsu.edu/grad/applygrad.htm
