Announcing: MALS Maymester 2015
“Triangle Museums in Local, National and Global Contexts”
MALS is proud to feature our 2015 Maymester course. “Triangle Museums in Local, National, and Global Contexts” is taught by Dr. Shelley Garrigan, associate professor of Spanish at NC State.
Cristian Maris is a long way from Brad, Romania, but he is at NC State to pursue both a military and academic career. Before coming to NC State, he was stationed at Fort Bragg and working as a Battalion School NCO.
MALS is proud to feature Dr. Elvira Vilches! Originally from Spain, Dr. Vilches is a member of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at NC State. Since 2012, Dr. Vilches has been teaching courses for MALS. Her seminar this semester focuses on the cultural and natural history of chocolate.
As part of Dr. Robert Kochersberger’s MLS 501 seminar, “Aviation and the Rise of Civilization,” the students visited the Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Oct. 22.
Spring 2015 Seminars: This spring, MALS features two seminars, including Dr. Bob Patterson’s “Global Sustainable Human Development” and Dr. Elvira Vilches “A Natural and Cultural History of Chocolate.”
MALS is proud to present “A Natural and Cultural History of Chocolate,” taught by Dr. Elvira Vilches.
Congratulations to arts studies professor and former MALS director Rodney Waschka. A piece composed by Dr. Waschka received its world premiere and U.S. premiere in the same week.
